It’s been raining/hailing/tornado-ing here in the Ohio Valley for pretty much a week now. My yard and the two yards I mow on a weekly basis for some side money were all out of control. One is a vacant rental house belonging to my wife’s cousin and one is a house belonging to a friend of my wife’s. 16,000 steps and three hours later, I’m done. Burned off the burger and tater tots I had for lunch, though.

Here we see the Chevrolet S10 in its natural habitat - in front of an old house and sporting a dirty old push mower in the bed.

It’s pretty much the perfect old beater truck. Minimal rust, runs okay (smokes at startup - common 4.3 problem that I’m beyond not worried about), and is old/beat up enough for me to drive when there’s a threat of bad weather. My 6 hides in the garage like a coward on those days while the brave little toaster (I mean truck) goes with me.

We actually have a two-car garage but for some reason my wife wants her CX-5 in there instead of my S10.

Close. My wife’s CX-5 is “Stormy Blue Mica” and my car is “Deep Crystal Blue Mica. Mine is a tad darker. It replaced the Stormy Blue recently in Mazda’s lineup.

This was the first weekend I didn't have to mow the lawn. My son is finally big enough to push the mower. He mowed both the front and back yards for the first time today! All I had to do was run the weed eater.

There is a house for sale in the next town over that used to be a fire station. It has a giant four car garage attached to it. But it gets better, after it was a fire station, it was a municipal building, and they put a separate detached six car garage behind it. It even has three lifts in it. If I could afford the nut on a $600k house, she would be mine. Never mind that the house only has two bedrooms, the girls can share!
